Introduction: As part of Lowe Property Care’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, some of the team recently volunteered at Hopefield Animal Sanctuary in Brentwood. The team came together for a meaningful day of hands-on work to support the sanctuary’s vital mission of caring for rescued animals.
Background: Lowe Property Care volunteered for the morning at Hopefield Animal Sanctuary to provide practical support while showing teamwork and community values within our own organisation.
Scope of Work:
During our visit, the team of volunteers undertook a variety of essential tasks, including:
- Animal Enclosure Cleaning: We cleaned out living spaces for several animals, replacing bedding and ensuring each area was clean, dry and comfortable.
- Shed Dismantling: One of the day’s tasks involved carefully dismantling an old, disused wooden shed. The team worked together to safely take it down, sort materials and remove all waste from that site.
- Feeding the Animals: Team members of LPC helped with feeding routines for some of the animals at the sanctuary.
Throughout the day, teamwork, safety and care for the animals were at the forefront of our efforts.
Results:
- Improved Site Safety: The removal of the disused shed cleared valuable space and reduced hazards on-site.
- Stronger Team Cohesion: The shared experience fostered collaboration and strengthened bonds across departments at LPC.
- Community Impact: Our contribution helped lighten the workload for sanctuary staff and demonstrated our commitment to giving back.
Conclusion:
Volunteering at Hopefield Animal Sanctuary was both a rewarding and eye-opening experience for the Lowe Property Care team who volunteered. We are proud to have supported such a compassionate organisation. Do check out their website and social media to see what great work they are doing!
